Belmount Hall Lake District Wedding Photography

Katie & Jon are both lovers of the outdoors so their wedding at Belmont Hall near Hawkshead in the Lake District was the perfect location for them. They even brought their black labrador Ted along for the day!

I met with Katie and the girls who were getting ready in one of the generously sized bedrooms on the top floor of Belmont Hall which provides an amazing view over the countryside towards Esthwaite Water.

Later I headed down to meet Jon and the guys at the Queens Head pub in Hawkshead where they were having a couple of pre-ceremony drinks.

The ceremony took place in the West Barn room of the Grade II listed Belmont Hall and it was a really upbeat service with music played on the upright piano at the back of the room and some really funny speeches from Katie’s sister and a friend who had travelled over from New Zealand.

The weather was pretty mixed earlier in the day but brightened up for Katie, Jon and all the guests to have canapés outside which is where we had some family photos. I took Katie & Jon for some informal portraits before the meal was served in the West Barn Ante Room.

The whole day had an amazing warm and friendly atmosphere with some great speeches and a band playing in the evening which filled the dance floor.

Katie & Jon took some time out later in the night for a few more outdoor portraits which is always fun to do.

I had a great time shooting at Belmont Hall, the owners and staff were so accommodating and friendly. I’ll be looking forward to returning soon!
